About Impressionable

You know that feeling — when something just clicks? Not a tip, not a hack, not someone giving unsolicited advice. Something that actually reframes how you see things. A concept so clear, or so unexpectedly well-explained, that you catch yourself thinking: why has nobody put it to me like that before? Sometimes it arrives completely out of nowhere. Sometimes it's something so ridiculous you actually shake your head — and then, after a second look, it isn't. Then you can't unsee it.

That feeling — equal parts enlightenment and delight — is what we're trying to recreate at Impressionable. Just applied to your finances, and everything that quietly shapes them.

In plain terms, Impressionable is a bunch of likeminded professionals in purpose and varied in background and experience, trying to explain finance, business and money in a way that's actually useful to you — using references and examples you're unlikely to encounter in your day-to-day. We cover three areas, roughly: personal finance (investing, mortgages, credit — the stuff that actually matters to your life), how businesses and markets work behind the scenes and why it affects you, and why you make the financial decisions you do — including the bad ones.

We borrow ideas from wherever the best ones live — sometimes from fields that seem completely unrelated, which often makes them the most useful. Physics, when it explains a financial concept better than finance does. Behavioural economics, which explains most of human behaviour and virtually all of your worst financial habits. The deep rabbit holes the social media algorithm never surfaces — the kind you only stumble into at 11pm because someone buried a link in a three-year-old Reddit thread that twelve people upvoted and everyone else scrolled past. The stuff that was once considered unforgivably nerdy and geeky, until the world caught up.

The spirit behind all of it is simple: that the most complicated ideas can be made genuinely fascinating without being dumbed down — explained from a slightly left-field direction, and applied to things that will actually shift how you think about money and the world around you.

The name says it all, really. We're here to leave an impression on you — whether that lands as knowledge, curiosity, a bit of fun, or something that sounds completely absurd right up until it changes everything.
